THE EMERGENCY SCRIPT

Birds that carry angel-dust
and adorn your tear-sorn face
Will return with happiness
and from their hearts they’ll lace
Your heart with a tiny stitch
to hold your love back in.

A stitch that will strengthen you
until you are ready to begin again.

Tears drop quietly and murmurs heard
when all around you make no sound
For fear that they might disturb
the solace you seek from where?

(Note: Written aged 15. Relevant when my first wife, Carol, died when I was 28)
